ReboundAIR™ History
In 1983, Carter and a team of Hong Kong engineers developed the first Half-Fold rebounder with a revolutionary hinge design. Carter began marketing his Half-Fold Rebounder in the U.S. through his company Rebound Dynamics of Seattle, Washington. The introduction of this innovative rebounder sparked interest and enthusiasm in the general public, causing competitors to develop and market their own imitations of Carter’s design. (Learn more about how ReboundAIR™ rebounders compare to the current competition.) With Rebound Exercise gaining popularity and credibility (Carter was invited to present the benefits of rebounding to both NASA and the U.S. Air Force), Carter decided to concentrate his efforts in promoting the health benefits of rebounding and his line of highest-quality rebounders. In 1998, he established the American Institute of Reboundology, Inc. (now commonly referred to as “ReboundAIR™” or AIR, Inc). After 28 years of development and study,ReboundAIR™ has enjoyed continued success as the leader in rebounder quality and innovation, offering not only standard and half-fold rebounders to consumers, but also providing the public with Carter’s unique and revolutionary portable model, the Quarter-Fold rebounder, first with a steel frame (in 1994) and then more recently with a more durable, lightweight polymer composite frame. (Find out about our current Quarter-Fold model, the “Ultimate Rebound”.) ReboundAIR™ has also become a recognized resource for rebounding knowledge and instruction, offering the largest collection of rebounding books and videos, and being the exclusive provider of the Distance-Learning Certified Reboundologist Certification Course.
